Vitalik Buterin told what he will do with L2-projects tokens

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has promised to donate all of his second-layer (L2) network tokens to charity or spend them to support public initiatives within the Ethereum ecosystem. He wrote about this on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

He also added that he has no plans to invest in L2 or buy tokens from other projects in the near future. “When I fund projects, I support what I believe to be valuable. Especially in cases where other parts of the ecosystem may undervalue them. In the future, I plan to do this only through donations,” he added.

Pavel Durov said he is ready to leave jurisdictions that do not support his values

Telegram founder Pavel Durov denied the grounds for his arrest and said he was ready to leave markets that were incompatible with the messenger's concept. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“Sometimes we fail to reach an agreement with a country’s regulator on the right balance between privacy and security. In such cases, we are ready to leave that country. We have done this many times,” Durov said, citing Russia and Iran as examples. “We are ready to leave markets that are incompatible with our principles, because we are not doing this for the money. We are driven by the intentions of doing good and protecting people’s fundamental rights, especially where these rights are violated.” This is Durov's first address to the public since his arrest. In it, he outlined his position on what happened in detail.

Last month, Durov was arrested at a Paris airport and charged with "complicity in distributing child pornography" and other crimes, such as drug trafficking via a messenger app.

Donald Trump Promises to Make America the Capital of the Crypto Industry

Donald Trump and the Capital of the Crypto Industry

Trump has promised to make America the capital of cryptocurrencies and appointed Elon Musk to head a new government task force.

Speaking at the Economic Club of New York on September 5, the former US president once again expressed his support for the digital asset industry and promised to cancel at least ten old rules for every new one.

“Instead of attacking the industries of the future, we will support them by making America the cryptocurrency and Bitcoin capital of the world,” he said. He also promised to create a government efficiency commission that would conduct a full financial and operational audit of the entire federal government. Trump believes Elon Musk should head this commission.

Coinbase CFO Claims Kamala Harris Is Using Platform to Collect Cryptocurrency

Coinbase CFO Alecia Haas announced that US Vice President Kamala Harris is using Coinbase Commerce to accept cryptocurrency donations for her campaign. Haas made the announcement during a talk at Citi’s 2024 Global TMT conference, as cited by Fortune. A Coinbase spokesperson later confirmed that Future Forward, a political committee that officially identifies itself as Harris’s official super PAC, had connected to Coinbase Commerce. The Block previously reported on talks between Coinbase and Harris’ campaign.

Meanwhile, Harris representatives have not confirmed this information, and the Crypto4Harris group is not aware of accepting cryptocurrency. In addition, the Harris fundraising site currently does not have this integration.
